Our shields are not the plastic photographic library images that are stuck on to the shield

To discover if an Entitlement to Arms is recorded for a particular Surname, use the Family
Name Search facility.

We list all 46,700 Family Surnames with a Right to Arms. If you name is not included, then no entitlement for that family name has ever been recorded in the official Heralds' Visitations.
